U.S. Open

Hello. This is Sanford Moore. My posts will more than likely be different than that of Davis’s. By my last posts I hope to have many more youths in the greater Jackson area watching PGA Tour Events. Golf is the most underrated Sport to watch by young people and I can see some people calling it boring and slow paced. But if you just read my interesting updates about the PGA Tour tournaments and its Players you should have a different outlook. The 107th U.S. Open is to be held at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. This might be the hardest course in the United States Played on tour along with Augusta National of course. They had over 5,000 trees removed since the last U. S. Open held there in 1994 where Ernie Els took home the trophy. Also 4 more rows of grass were added to the famous church pew bunkers which penalize a hooked shot on 2 consecutive holes. The worst part about this course and all U.S. Open courses is the rough. At Oakmont they have a graduated rough where they cut the grass ascending in height away from the fairway. So the worse shot you hit, the more you have to pay. What everybody wants on the Tour is for 1. Tiger Woods to be paired with 2. Phil Mickleson on Sunday. That probably won’t happen this weekend because Phil has a hurt wrist. Pansy. And Tiger’s game has really been lacking lately. At the Players Championship he only had 1 day under par, where the winner (Phil) was -11. Anyway back the Oakmont, it has been played a record 8 times as the U.S. Open where only 23 players have finished 72 holes under par. And when you play golf for a living and have top of the line equipment and don’t mess up a lot, that’s tells you something about the course. Halfway through the first round Cabrera who has never made the cut ever in a PGA Tour event shot a one under 69. The leader thus far is Dougherty at -2. I will have another posts wrapping up the U.S. Open.

I'll take Tiger vs the field in any tournament that there is. And golf is slow paced, you can't argue with that
